Recent QuestionsGetting insurance for my RV with a foreign license
For any policy, car or RV, you will need a permanent address. However, I wouldn't recommend using an address in Michigan. Because of Michigan's DMV laws, they are the most expensive state in the nation to get auto insurance from.
Will my homeowners insurance cover damage caused by a hurricane?
The majority of homeowners insurance policies do not provide coverage for flood damage. Unless your insurance policy provides coverage specifically against floods, you would have to have flood insurance through FEMA or the NFIP.
Will my boat insurance policy cover a passenger falling overboard?
The answer will depend on the coverage you currently have on your policy. There are two instances where boat insurance would cover an injury to a passenger caused from falling overboard. If your policy includes medical coverage, your passenger's medical bills should be covered up to the limit on your policy.
Is it legal for me to have an uninsured vehicle that's not being driven while I work on it?
As long as you aren't driving the vehicle and it isn't registered then there should be no issue leaving the vehicle off of your policy. If you plan to drive the vehicle on a public roadway, you will need to insure it.
See More Questions
Should I contact the police and insurance company days after I rear ended a car?
It is unlikely that the other driving contacting the police days after the accident will result in any citation. Unless they were called to the scene, they probably won't even be able to write an accident report.
Which state would I need to get insurance in if my daughter will be attending graduate school out-of-state and the car is in my name?
The vehicle will need to be insured in the state where it is driven, so you have 1 of 2 options. You can have your daughter added as a co-owner of the vehicle and she will be able to register and insure the vehicle in her name, in the new state.
If my husband backed into a parked car and put a tiny dent in a bumper that was already severely damaged, is he liable for the entire bumper?
Your husband should only be liable for the damage he caused. However, your insurance company will ultimately decide what they will and won't cover regarding the repair or replacement of the bumper.
Can I file a claim if we agreed to not pursue a claim but the other driver changed their mind?
It isn't too late to file a claim, even if you and the other driver agreed not to, since your insurance policy is intended to cover you after an accident. If you are considered to be at-fault in the accident then your company should pay for the damage caused to the other driver.
