Feng shui has been practiced in China for thousands of years. The literal translation of feng shui is “wind water,” two flowing elements. According to the practice, the arrangement of your home affects the flow of energy, or chi. This flow can be altered by the choice of furniture placement, color palettes and decor.
There are two main types of feng shui: one based on the surrounding landscape (hills, rivers, mountain ranges) and the other based on cardinal directions (that’s north, south, east and west). We won’t go into detail about these two, rather give you quick tips to start the feng shui process and increase positive energy flow throughout your home.
