Question

Is bundling cheaper with Auto-Owners?

I’ve got my car with one company and my house with another, and I keep hearing I could save more if I bundle them together with Auto-Owners. But is that really true, or is it just something agents say to get you to switch everything over? Bundling sometimes just feels like a buzz word that every company uses all the time now.

Bundling really can save you money, especially with a company like Auto-Owners that rewards customers for having multiple policies. When you insure your home and auto together, you’re usually eligible for a multi-policy discount that lowers the premium on both. On top of that, Auto-Owners sometimes layers in additional perks, like easier claims coordination if the same storm damages both your car and your house.

That said, the savings aren’t always dramatic — it depends on your home’s value, your driving record, and what coverages you pick. Sometimes the rate looks great bundled, and sometimes keeping policies separate with two different insurers works out cheaper. The real advantage of bundling is usually the convenience: one agent, one bill, and a smoother process if you ever need to file claims on both at the same time.

If you’re curious, it’s worth asking your Auto-Owners agent for a side-by-side quote — bundled versus separate — so you can see the actual numbers. That way, you’ll know whether it’s just a small convenience perk or a real money-saver for your household.

Auto-Owners insurance doesn't have "storefronts" like you see from some other names in the industry, is purchased through independent agents. The nice thing about that is that independent agents can compare quite a few companies for you and figure out which company will offer you the most savings, so that's what I'd recommend for your situation.
