Question

In Michigan is there a grace period to get insurance on a vehicle when you buy it?

My son is buying a truck from a private seller. The truck is located over 400 miles away, and he will need to drive it home after he purchases is. He would rather shop around for a cheap rate but doesn't have the time if he decides to buy right away.

If he already has insurance he would typically have 14 days to switch out the vehicle but he would need to check with his specific company. Good luck and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. See our linked guide if you'd like more information regarding car insurance for new vehicles.
