Regardless of where you live, if you are financing a vehicle you need to have it registered in your name. You can put the car insurance in someone else's name but insuring a vehicle you don't own can be challenging and you would still need to be listed on the policy. You will also need to list your finance company (i.e. lienholder) on the policy as an additional interest since they have a financial claim to the vehicle.

Good luck and if you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Can an insurance company recant liability and ask for a refund one month after paying me for damages to my vehicle?

I have not heard of a claim decision being reversed and asking for the claims payout money back. Great question!Trim and VIN locations can be hard to find with the wide variety of cars and trucks we have today. Even when you find it, it's not always easy to interpret.
