This can really depend on a number of things. Fault can only be determined by a claims adjuster who has reviewed the accident and any corresponding documentation. If you are at fault in the accident, your insurance will only pay for the damages you caused to the other car in the accident. The owner of the trailer would need to be a separate policy in place for the trailer for the damages to be covered. The policy for the trailer will need to have comprehensive and collision coverage to repair the damages if you were at fault.  If you were not at fault in the accident then the person who caused the accident would pay for the damages to both your car and the trailer. Good luck and if you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Unfortunately, auto insurance companies list almost all single-vehicle accidents as at-fault on your claims report, meaning that this situation would likely be considered an at-fault collision accident. An excluded driver got into an not-at-fault accident with my vehicle

In this situation, it can depend. When a driver is excluded from a car insurance policy, this means they are not covered to drive your vehicle. Your insurance company is no longer responsible if the claim was caused by an excluded driver. The good news is, in most situations when a driver is rear-e…

How can I get a not at fault accident charged off my driving record?

If your insurance company has to pay out on a claim, it will impact your rates. If you have uninsured motorist coverage, the accident will only stay on your record for 3 years and will not impact your rates as much as if you don't. If you don't have uninsured coverage, but do have collisi…

I would not recommend speaking with your insurance company unless the other driver refuses to pay for the damages. Because you have the police report and hopefully the other driver's insurance information, you should call their insurance company and begin the claims process. If you do not have…
