This can really depend on a number of things. Fault can only be determined by a claims adjuster who has reviewed the accident and any corresponding documentation. If you are at fault in the accident, your insurance will only pay for the damages you caused to the other car in the accident. The owner of the trailer would need to be a separate policy in place for the trailer for the damages to be covered. The policy for the trailer will need to have comprehensive and collision coverage to repair the damages if you were at fault.  If you were not at fault in the accident then the person who caused the accident would pay for the damages to both your car and the trailer. Good luck and if you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.

I would not recommend speaking with your insurance company unless the other driver refuses to pay for the damages. Because you have the police report and hopefully the other driver's insurance information, you should call their insurance company and begin the claims process. If you do not have…

Can I sue someone for the damage their driveway caused?

Although their driveway was what caused the damage, it is the driver's responsibility to navigate slowly over bumps to avoid damage. So, in this case, the owner of the driveway wouldn't be considered at fault or responsible for the damages. What I do recommend, however, is getting an esti…

This can be a tricky situation. Although we're both licensed insurance professionals, only a claims adjuster would be able to handle this so that is where I would take my question. However, in my experience, the owner of the parked vehicle is considered at fault in these instances because they…
