Basically, this is just another way to describe rental reimbursement coverage (which is part of rental car insurance coverage). What that means is if your vehicle becomes temporarily disabled from an incident that's covered by your policy, this coverage would reimburse you for the transportation expenses you have (i.e. car rental).

Keep it mind it will likely cap out at a certain daily limit, and has a total limit as well. This is usually written as 30/900 meaning it will be $30 a day up to $900 total, but this can vary by insurance company. Hope this helps!

What coverage do I need if a deer runs into my car?

Animals cause all sorts of damage to vehicles, and not always because someone hits them with their car. Will GEICO increase my rates if I file a windshield claim?

Filing a windshield claim with GEICO usually won’t cause your car insurance rates to go up. These repairs fall under comprehensive coverage and are often treated as “no-fault,” meaning they don’t count against you like an at-fault accident might. Small chip repairs are sometimes even free with no d…

If I scratched a rental car, can I pay for the paint repair out of pocket?

It's possible that going through the rental company for the repair will help you avoid a rate increase, but there is no guarantee that they won't notify your insurance provider. I would recommend looking into paying for the repairs yourself, but if the damage is extensive enough where you can't aff…
