Question

Does the name on the title affect car insurance rates?

Will our insurance rates go up if I title the car in my son's name? He is on my insurance policy but car is currently in my name. My son is on my auto policy but the car is titled in my name. He is 25 years old and I think its time the car be titled in his name. But I don't want my insurance rates to go up.

No, your rates should not change by putting the car in your son's name if he is already listed on the policy. Who the car is registered under does not impact the rate at all. You just need to make sure all drivers are listed on the policy. Good luck and if you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.
