Question

Can my fiancé and I share an insurance policy?

My insurance company is saying that I need my own policy, instead of sharing one with my fiancé, because we don't live together.  I only stay at my own apartment two days a week, but I stay at my fiance's address five days a week.  Does this count as "living together" for insurance purposes?

Great question! You are correct that you will need a separate policy from your mom since you don't live together. If my car was hit by a family member, can I claim the damage with my insurance company to help them avoid a higher rate?

You could claim the damage as a hit-and-run, but that's technically not what happened so I would avoid lying to your insurance company. I would recommend getting a repair estimate first so you can factor that into your decision. The only way to avoid causing an increase to your family member's poli…

Can my wife get a car insurance policy when both our names are on the title?

Thank you for reaching out to The Zebra!Car insurance can be very confusing, especially when it comes to who is listed on the title and who needs to be listed on the policy. In insurance we want all registered owners of the vehicle to be rated, listed, or excluded on the policy. Rating a driver mea…
