How does changing my due date affect my car insurance

I changed my due date on my car insurance, and got into an accident the day before it was due. Is my car still covered? My insurance was coming up due but I changed the due date by a week at the most there fore my due date now shows a new date. Will my insurance still cover my vehicle?

Sorry to hear about your accident.  You should still be covered since it sounds like you didn't miss your payment. Sometimes, if you completely change your due date, you can miss a billing cycle. In terms of your accident, you should still be covered. Due dates are notices of bills to be paid. As long as your insurance was not canceled by the insurance company for not paying, they will honor a claim. Again, all of this depends on the exact details of your policy.  I recommend checking out our short guide on claims for additional info. Good luck!
