Who pays for hit and run damage if there's no UMPD coverage in NY?

I just moved to NY from NJ. I just realized they don't offer Uninsured Physical Damage coverage as we did in NJ. So who pays for Uninsured Physical Damage to my car?

Uninsured Motorist Property Damage (UMPD) is not a coverage that is offered in New York. If your policy has collision coverage, you can now use that to repair any damages from a hit-and-run. Or if the situation calls for it, you can also take legal action against the at-fault party. For more information, see our guide to uninsured motorist coverage.

Good luck and if you have any additional questions don't hesitate to ask.

How can an insurance company add an accident to your record that never happened?

I would contact the insurance company that listed the claim and start a dispute. They really shouldn't be able to put you down for this claim. I imagine it was an error made on their part if it wasn't even your insured vehicle. If the company is uncooperative, you may want to dispute it w…

Are my seats covered from damage caused by a rat?

When there is an animal-involved incident, your comprehensive coverage would pay for the damages to your car. The insurance company will have to pay to repair the damage that was done to the car. This doesn't mean that they have to pay for the removal of the rodent. That is something that the insur…
