The simplest way is to call your American Family agent or log into the MyAmFam app to make the update. You’ll need your son’s driver’s license information, and your agent can walk you through how adding him could affect your premium. Young drivers, especially college-aged ones, are often considered higher risk, so you may see an increase — but your agent can also check whether you qualify for student discounts, good grade savings, or even a “student away at school” discount if he’s not driving full time during the school year.

If he’s only going to be behind the wheel during the summer, you can also remove him from your policy when he goes back to school. That way, you’re not paying for coverage when he’s not using the car. Just be sure to time the change carefully so he’s not left uninsured if he plans to drive while he’s home on break.

Keeping your driver list accurate is really important. If someone who regularly uses your car isn’t listed on your policy, there’s a chance they won’t be fully covered if they’re in an accident. Updating your policy helps avoid those kinds of surprises.

Should I file a claim after hitting a deer with an old vehicle?

It really depends. In Arizona, a totaled vehicle is determined via a total loss formula. If this value is greater than or equal to the actual cash value of your …

Is it ever possible to buy retroactive car insurance?

Unfortunately, if you did not have collisioncoverage on the vehicle at the time of the accident, your damages will not be covered.
