Question
Does car insurance cover vet bills for injured dogs?
Our dogs were injured in a car accident where the other driver was totally at fault. Does the at-fault insurance company have to pay all the vet bills or just what they deem is fair?
Answer
Sorry to hear about your accident. There are some insurance companies that offer pet coverage for this exact situation, but if not, the injuries to your pets should be covered by the property damage liability of the at-fault party's insurance. I would collect all info and receipts and turn this into the adjuster to make sure they pay the damages in full. Good luck and if you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.
