Question

Does State Farm match auto insurance quotes with other companies?

In shopping around, I can see that GEICO can offer me the same policy for about $100 cheaper. Will State Farm price match this rate?

In truth, no. Car insurance companies determine their rates based on their previous years' filings (loss to revenue ratio) in addition to other factors. State Farm and GEICO have different loss histories and net profits, and therefore will have different quotes (with no reason or incentive to match).

Have a look at our comparison of State Farm and GEICO to see the types of coverage they provide to make sure the cheaper option provides what you need. Also, remember that The Zebra can get auto quotes from several companies at once. You can also give us a call at 888-807-3823. Good luck and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
